STUDYING IN BELGIUM

Introduction:

This program is developed for foreign students who wish to follow musical studies in Belgium.

Studying abroad can be a stressful decision. It should be taken very seriously as it will involve hard working as well as time, energy and financial investment.

On the other hand, it will be a ‘once in a life time’ and mind opening experience from which one will be able to create friendship and contacts, develop his interpersonal skills and meet other people who share the same musical interest.

Why Belgium?

Belgium is a dynamic, openminded and welcoming country.

Although it is relatively small compared to most of the other European countries, its localisation and its cultural activities makes it the perfect spot to follow musical studies.

Located at the boarders of the main European countries, Belgium and its capital city Brussels also European Capital have become a strategic point for cultural and economic life.

The program:

This program helps students to find an instrument teacher and a Conservatory of Music or a Higher Music Institute that suits his/her expectations. It usually takes place between mid-March to mid-May (the schedule can however be adapted).

The participant will get numerous advantages by applying to this program. He/she will be able to come to Belgium for one or two month(s), to meet and take lessons with renowned teachers of numerous conservatories. He/she will be prepared for “Admission Examination”. He/she will be able to get an overview of how his/her studies in Belgium would look like. He/she will get time to prepare his/her visa and related documents and will be ready to start the academic year in September peacefully and calmly.

Description and benefits:

  • The program takes place in Belgium.

  • From mid-March to mid-April or mid-May.

  • One or two-month(s) program.

  • Weekly individual instrument lessons with different teachers of different conservatories or teacher of own choice.

  • Twice a week language lessons in small groups (French or Dutch or English).

  • Preparation to “Admission Examination”.

  • Preparation to “APS” examination.

  • Access to concerts and operas representations.

  • Organized visits of different cities.

  • Organized visits of museums and exhibitions.

  • Possibly, take part to an early “Admission Examination”.

  • Housing for the entire one or two-month(s) program.

  • We manage your application for conservatories.

  • Support/help for administrative tasks (such as diploma equivalence).

  • Support/help for Visas application.

  • Support/help for renting a place when studying in Belgium.

  • Individual and personalized services.

Requirements:

  • At least a reasonable level in instrument playing.

  • Good basis in English or French.

  • Motivated and willing to improve.

  • Obey the laws and rules in Belgium.

  • Take out a health insurance to travel to Belgium.

  • Follow the instructions.

  • Respect the deadlines.

  • Prepare the documents in advance.

  • Follow your application update.

  • Keep contact and communicate with the staff.

  • Pay the fee for the program.

Participants are required to have a respectful attitude towards all the other people on the program as well as to the equipment. Any bad behavior will be penalized and may result in the immediate dismissal of the person(s) responsible.
